My Daughter Gave Birth to Quadruplets!

Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Psalms 112:1-2

Samantha's HOME/Tell the World

After a frustrating lack of success, the doctors decided to quit trying to get Samantha off the oxygen. Instead, they began working on getting her home. Their decision to turn up her oxygen to 100% was what she needed. She began eating well and her color improved. At last, she was ready to leave the NICU.

Children's Hospital sent out the oxygen guy to train us and scare us to death. There is so much to remember and to worry about--no flames, no gas, no alcohol, no petroleum jelly, no sparks. We thought it was crazy around here before! Per Children's suggestion, we notified the fire department/medic team that a preemie infant on oxygen was coming home so they would be prepared.

We went to the hospital for the long discharge process. When the time came, Samantha was unplugged from the hospital machines she has known all of her life and plugged into our portable ones. Scary!

It was such a strange feeling to walk out of the NICU for the last time. I don't know what I was feeling; it was a strange combination of incredible relief, overwhelming fear and unbelievable sadness. In a weird way, this hospital has been our home for a while.

Goodbye Good Samaritan Hospital! I have been making the drive every day since the first part of June. The hospital has been such a blessing to our family, yet it has been so hard to go down each day. I will miss the people I have met there. I will also miss the comfort of having the best people in their fields to care of my family as if it were their own.

We were warned that it is very difficult for the NICU infants to transition to being home. They tend to be stressed, overstimulated and upset by the sudden change of environment and routine.

Samantha wasn't. She loved the car ride and settled in next to her brothers and sisters as if they had never been apart. The prayers of God's people are continuing to make an impact on her life in so many ways. God is working out His plan.

Sammy Jo is home and she likes it here.

When we got back, we sat around holding babies and remembering how close we came to losing Samantha. She is a miracle of God's loving care.

As long as I live,I will never forget what He did on her behalf, nor will I forget all the amazing people who asked God to help us. Incredible!

I'd say she looks glad to be home. I am not sure how she knows, but she does.

Tony was put to work at midnight on the day he was no longer quarantined. He's still smiling.

Papaw is pretty happy, too. The Cincinnati Reds are the NL Central Division Champs! This is a great week.

There was quite a celebration when we won the game. Tom's smile was something I wouldn't have wanted to miss.

We are having our own celebration--so many babies, so little time. We want to tell the world what God has done!

Thank you so very much for praying, from the bottom of our hearts.

Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his miracles.

So relieved! So thankful! So amazed whenever I see all those bundles of babies. Thank you so much for sharing your story. You're all still in my prayers -- just a different request now. ;> Best wishes to all of you, and we're looking forward to seeing the sequel documentary.

Take care,
Catherine
